Edit like a Pro: Go Backwards

My wife was right

I have spent the past few months editing my second book and reviewing the formatting. This process is often laborious and dull, and I usually run into the problem of familiarity. I have read all my content multiple times, and my brain can fill in the blanks, so what can I do?

My wife suggested reading the book backwards. She said read each paragraph from the end to the beginning, and that would allow me to see what I hadn’t seen before.

I really didn’t want to read it another time, but I decided I would give it one last read backwards.

I was shook.

I found quite a few simple errors and a few major errors. All of them would have bothered me greatly after the fact, and I quickly went through the book in two days.

The end of this last edit made me feel more comfortable and confident in the book from the content, the order, and the grammar.
