I’m sure the poor aren’t treated as well as the rich. The point of the police is to protect property, which poor people have less of. The dataset actually has zipcodes, so if you desire, you could do that analysis.

But I think it is a distraction. I think you’re trying to say that while it is unfortunate that black people are poor, it’s being poor that’s the problem not black. But that ignores that black people are poorer as the result of systematic racism. You grew up poor and then were able to jump class brackets. Do you think that would be as easy for a poor black person?

Your personal experience is still through the lens of a white person. How did you know the police were less aggressive in nicer neighborhoods? Was that just your experience or your experience while you were hanging out with your black friends in nicer neighborhoods?

Regardless of black or white, it seems the police kill a lot of people. Even white people should wonder why and maybe ask if that is so necessary.
